This Millionaire’s Magnetic Floating Bed consists of magnets weighing about 1500 lbs (680 Kilograms) these allow the bed to keep floating. Four thin but strong wires tied to the walls helps to keep it in one position and prevent it from drifting. The bed can support up to 900Kg weight and costs about $1,600,000.
The bed gives an appearance of a sleek slab levitating in midair. Floating at 16 inches above the floor, the bed is held in place by matching set of repelling magnetic fields from magnets built into the bed and the floor. The force is strong enough to support the weight of the bed and the additional weight of the sleepers. The bed’s measurements are customized to meet the customer’s needs.
It was designed by a Dutch designer who was inspired by the monolith in the movie 2001: A space Odyssey.
There is no known health risk associated with the magnetic bed, however due to the strong magnetic fields; you might not be able to have metallic objects and equipment in the room or within areas with the magnetic field. One must be very careful when vacuuming underneath otherwise the strong fields might attract or repel any metallic parts like jewels or cleaning equipment.
The This Millionaire’s Magnetic Floating Bed may remind you of the water or swinging bed.
