As Nikon digital cameras become advanced, Nikon has updated its Coolpix digital cameras line-up for 2015 with a selection of new models ranging from budget compacts and big zoom DSLR-like bridge cameras, to tough cameras. The list of Nikon Coolpix digital cameras include
- P610 and L840,
- Coolpix S9900,
- S7000, S6900
- AW130 and S33
- S3700 and L32 consumer digital cameras.
The highlight of the nine-camera assault of the Nikon digital cameras, is undoubtedly the Nikon Coolpix P610 camera.
Nikon Coolpix P610 and L840
P610 has an ultra-powerful 60x (24-1440-mm)optical zoom lens while the L840 has 8x Zoom-NIKKOR ED Glass Lens. Both have an in built GPS and Wi-Fi and Near Field Communication technology (NFC).
P610 offers full manual control, advanced shooting modes and Full HD video. With point-and-shoot ease, the user can flip out the swivel LCD display or use the high-resolution eye-level viewfinder (EVF). It offers Dynamic Fine Zoom, which gives the capabilities to double the digital zoom function up to 120x.
The Dual Detect Optical VR improves VR to keep the shots and video sharp and steady. The GPS records the exact location of each shot you take. Additionally, the camera also comes with Points of Interest (POI) function that shows the nearby photo-ops like scenic lookouts and popular scenes.
L840 has 16 MP low-light CMOS Sensor and like the P610 it offers Dynamic Fine Zoom, but up to 76x digital zoom. And for sudden shots, select Scene Auto Selector for convenience. The Nikon digital camera records video in Full HD 1080p at 30/25 fps.

Coolpix S9900, S7000, S6900
The three Nikon digital cameras use 16MP 1/2.3-inch sensor, have in built Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity and Full HD 1080p video at 30/25 fps capabilities.
S9900 has a swiveling high-resolution 3.0″ 21K dot LCD with anti-reflection coating, it has a 30x optical zoom but 60x when switched to Dynamic Fine Zoom.
S7000 is ultra-slim and records Full HD 1080/60i videos with stereo sound. It has a 25-500-mm equivalent F3.4-F6.5 lens comes with 19 Scene Modes including Beach and Snow.
S6900 is built for self portraits and its Vari-angle LCD flips all the way around the face. It has a 25-300-mm equivalent F3.3-F6.3 lens; with Dynamic Fine Zoom it can go up to 24x.
The S9900 will be priced at $350, S7000 at $280 and S6900 at $230.
Nikon Coolpix AW130 and S33 digital cameras
AW130 is built to withstand harsh weather conditions and is well suited for adventure-seekers, while the S33 is designed more for family photography.
The AW130 features a 16MP 1/2.3-inch CMOS and 24-120-mm equivalent F2.8-F4.9 lens. It is waterproof to 30 meters (100 ft), freeze-proof to temperatures of -10 ºC (14 ºF), shockproof 2.1 meters (7 ft) and can shoot Full HD 1080p video at 30/35 fps. It has built-in Wi-Fi, NFC and GPS and has 3” 921k dot OLED display.
Compared to AW130, the S33 is less tough and has 13MP 1/3.1-inch CMOS sensor. It is waterproof to 10 meters (33 ft), freeze-proof to temperatures of -10 ºC (14 ºF), shockproof to 1.5 meters (5ft). It is also capable of recording Full HD 1080p video at 30 fps.
Coolpix AW130 will be priced at $350, and the S33 at $150.
Nikon Coolpix cameras – model S3700 and L32
• The Nikon Coolpix S3700 is a 20-megapixel camera and can record HD 720p video at 30/25 fps. It uses a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor and a 25–200-mm equivalent F3.7-F6.6 lens and has built-in Wi-Fi and NFC. It has 2.7-inch LCD.
• L32 also uses a 20MP but has a slightly larger 3-inch LCD monitor. However, the user will not be able to share file since it lacks Wi-Fi connectivity. It uses 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor and 26-130mm equivalent F3.2-F6.5 lens.
• Nikon Coolpix S3700 will be priced at $140 and L32 at $120.
The year 2015 looks promising with the new entries into the Nikon digital cameras line of products.
